Privacy Policy
Privacy and Data Protection
The new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) were introduced on 25th May 2018 and they have significant implications for businesses, voluntary organisations and charities.
The essential aim is to protect individuals rather than organisations
The only data held by the Bedford and District Cat Club are details of Members’ postal addresses, e-mail addresses and telephone numbers
It is the duty on any Organisation to appoint a Data Controller – in the case of the B&DCC this will be the Membership Secretary (who holds the only significant amount of data in the possession of the Club).
But all members of the Organisation must protect all aspects of personal data.
For example, Members’ details will no longer be available in the Annual Show Catalogue. The Club gives assurance of adherence to the Terms of the GDPR in any communication with the Club.
